Medical Biller/Coder

Overview

Medical Billing and Coding Specialist will be responsible for the coding and collection of routine to complex physician charges and patient data to ensure that claims are submitted to insurance payors in the most compliant, efficient, and expeditious manner possible.

Responsibilities

  • Codes routine to complex procedures and diagnoses using ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines, procedures and protocols for government and commercial payers.
  • Responsible daily for correction and resubmission of primary/secondary rejected claims.
  • Interacts with physicians and other care providers regarding billing and documentation policies, procedures, and regulations; obtains clarification of conflicting, ambiguous, or non-specific documentation.
  • Interacts with CFO regarding the implementation of new codes and revision of charge documents.
  • Serves as a resource regarding pre-authorizations, referrals, and estimating charges prior to a patient’s visit.

Requirements

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required
  • Orthopedic experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 medical coding, reimbursement guidelines and medical terminology required;
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously, proactively, and follow-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures;
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of staff and customers;
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Strong facilitation and influencing skills; confident and articulate

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Licensed Physical Therapist

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Dedicated to achieving the highest quality of care optimizing superior clinical outcomes.
  • Provide direct patient care, evaluate patient's case history, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions to determine the patients’ potential for rehabilitation.
  • Establish and administer treatment programs with specific goals defined by the patient's capacity and tolerance and in accordance with physician orders.
  • Educate patient, document and record the patient's condition and provide continuing updates on patient condition.
  • Examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability
  • Comply with both federal and state guidelines, including all licensing requirements

MRI Technologist PRN/Part Time

Valdosta Orthopedic Associates has an opportunity for a Registered ARRT to join our team. Great Pay. Looking for Fridays, occasional Saturdays as well as some evenings. This position will be Part Time or PRN only.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts.
  • Position patients to capture the right image as prescribed by the doctor, explaining procedures to patients, imposing safety measures, and using equipment properly.
  • Maintain patient records, monitor equipment functions, monitor patients while they are being scanned, and ensure the image captured is clear and readable.
  • Required to follow specific procedures to ensure your safety and the safety of other workers and patients.
  • Serve as an assistant to doctors by providing images of a patient's body that the doctor uses to make a proper diagnosis.

X-Ray Tech

Job description

The Registered Radiologic Technologist will perform radiological duties in compliance with x-ray department and legal requirements. Help patients feel comfortable during the entire process. Perform selected nursing, lab, administrative, and clerical duties that assist in the delivery of orthopedic health care and patient care management under the direction of a Physician, PA, or NP. These duties are delegated in relation to the individual's degree of training, in accordance with the objectives and policies of the organization and respective state laws governing such action and activities.
Selected candidate will serve as a medical assistant from time to time as necessary. Responsibilities include bringing patients to rooms, beginning basic assessments, and updating electronic health records. Medical assistants are responsible for patient care including wound care, suture removal, assisting physicians with minor, in-office surgical procedures, injections, etc.
The ideal candidate will be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced, high volume atmosphere while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Radiologic Technology Degree
  • Current and Active ARRT
  • Requires knowledge of human anatomy
  • X-Ray Experience in Operating Room
  • Minimum 1 year experience in medical field
  • EHR Knowledge

Preferred Skills

  • Basic computer skills necessary: Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Experience with insurance a plus, but not necessary

Physical Therapist Assistant

Roles and Responsibilities

The Physical Therapy Assistant will provide treatment under the direction of a Licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will assist in carrying out patient treatment programs, providing treatment that improves mobility, relieves pain, and prevents or lessens physical disabilities of patients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved program for Physical Therapy Assistants
  • Current Georgia Physical Therapist Assistant licensure
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare providers
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated and attentive to details
  • Skill to work in a team oriented environment
  • Computer skills; ability to use electronic medical record
  • Must specialize or have extensive experience in back and spine therapy
